A Tomato A Day

Friday, May 1st, 2015

Most fruits and vegetables have more food value raw. Tomatoes are even better cooked. I don’t like to say it but the tomato sauce on your pizza is better for you than the raw tomato on your salad. What would the world be like without exceptions.
The lycopene, the organic component that turns a tomato red, is the key ingredient that helps reduce the chances of certain cancers and heart disease.
Don’t get me wrong – raw tomatoes score high on the health chart but processed tomato sauces score even higher.

Either way – enjoy that ripe tomato.
